Nightingale bowed to the honorable dead, then turned from the flames. They reminded her too much of the fire that had taken her adopted family from her only days before. She looked over at the vampire that stood with her. "My name is Nightingale. I'm going to find Storm, the other vampire that was just here, if you would like to come with me. Lidia always said that the ones who need friends the most are the ones who reject friendship, so we should do our est to offer it against their will." Nightingale smiled a little. Lidia had a strange way of looking at things.

Leeta, despite herself and the situation, smiled slightly. "Your Lidia was very right. I couldn't agree more." She said, wiping away any remnants of tears left on her cheeks. She looked back at Nightingale. "My name is Leeta by the way. I would love to come help you force friendship on the poor man." She said, her lips twitching as some life and joy filtered back into her gaze. She looked once more up at the pyre of fire and then wrapped her cloak more tightly around her shoulders as she bowed to the smaller woman, waiting for her to lead the way.

Caelum looked on grimly as the people slowly began to take their leave. The wailing quieted down and soon the air was filled with a sadness so thick for a moment he imagined he might choke on it. Then the King shifted, moving from his hunched posture to a straighter one. Caelum moved forward only to stop in his tracks when the King turned around and he could hear what he was muttering.
"They will all pay for this," He muttered, his gaze fevered and crazed. Caelum's stomach seemed to drop as he stared at his King, watching as the sanity flickered in his eyes and then returned again. Konig looked back at him and frowned. "What are you doing just standing there," He growled. "Come now, its time to go. Much work to do." He said, his gaze glazing over again as he walked past, the rest of his guard following around him, forming a living sheild. Caelum stared after them for a moment, feeling as though something was very wrong and as he moved into the formation as well he felt that feeling settle into one of premonition. Things were about to get much worse. He could feel it.....and feared it.

Not far away from the funural, but out of sight of the people, a portal opened about 15 meters in the air behind a building. Three figures fell through it. One was a beast like humaniod, about 8 feet tall, horns that started at the brow and curved over his head and down beside his neck. He was covered in a light brown-yellow fur and white eyes, with a dark red mane going from the start of his horns, all the way down his back.
His large, clawed hand reached out and caught a smaller figure. A human who was unconcious. The human wore clothing not of the area or time for that matter. A white button up shirt with a pair of blue jeans and running shoes. In his right hand though, he held a oversized clamor with ruinic symbols over it.
As the two hit the ground, the sword shattered, and the mans long brown hair fell over his face. He was beaten badly, and blood seeped from the fresh wounds.
The third and final figure floated down, using a spell to slow down the other two's fall. This figure looked to be mad of crystal of someform in the body, and the cloak hid its face so that only the two pure blue eyes could be seen of it. It was about three feet tall, made of a glowing blue crystal, its body humanoid, but its arms were not physicly attached to the main body and neather were its fingures. It had no legs, floating eye level with any averge human.
The cystalin figure made a gester with its hand to the other humaniod. The beast like creature nodded and slowly vanished into a red mist. The crystalin figure started a healing prosses and set up a barrier so that they couldn't be sensed.
Their pressence wouldn't be noticed for some time to come......

Nightingale walked with her new friend Leeta through the empty streets. She sniffed the air, picking up Storms scent through the smells of many others. The smells of burning wood, ash, and the fire itself that drenched the city were the only things that made it more difficult. For a moment, there was the faint smell of human blood, some distance away. Then, it simply vanished. Nighingale stopped and sniffed again, then shook her head. Nothing. She smiled at her companion. "He's not far off. If we hurry a little, we can probably catch up soon."

Leeta glanced up when Nightingale spoke. Her mind had been wandering once again, as it often did when she was troubled. She smiled though when she met Nightingales gaze and nodded. "Right, let's hurry then." She said, searching the crowd as she picked up her pace. Now that the funeral was over everyone was leaving, going home or back to the individual vending stations. Many people headed toward the taverns though. She wrinkled her nose. No doubt they went there and to the pubs to gossip about the queen's sudden death and Caelum's promise to the killer. Caelum, she wondered how he was dealing with all this. He had been closest to the queen after all.
Leeta suppressed a sigh as she pursed her lips and rubbedf her temple. This was all growing into quite a headache. Not wanting to deal with such tricksome thoughts she turned her attention back to Storm, and how he'd looked when he'd made his sudden departure. She didn't like the emotions she'd seen in his eyes. A look that reminded her of one she saw in her own eyes when she chanced a reflection.

Storm frowned when he saw the one leading the funeral procession start to leave. He had to find a way to speak to him, to offer his assistance, but would the man willingly accept help from an outsider? He started to go toward him, but stopped, stood his full height and shook his head. What use would he ever be? After all, he'd failed his best friend, failed to save him from their enemies. Storm had made their enemies pay dearly for their affront, but it was a lot too late. How could they possibly want him? A failure to his own people?
He sighed and started to turn around. He would have to learn more on his own. He was always better on his own. Nobody had to depend on him. He couldn't fail others if he was alone...only himself. He started to leave the cover of the trees when he saw the two women coming towards him. If he wasn't wrong, they were searching for him, their eyes intent on him when they spotted him. Quickly, he began moving through the crowd. The last thing he needed was somebody trying to befriend him. It would only bring them pain...

Nightingale watched Storm turn and hurry away from the two of them. She quickened her step, keeping pace with im easily on the crowded street, following his scent when she lost sight of him. Once they were in a less populous area, she would be able to confront him more easily. However, for now, she wouldn't make a scene. She was determined. She knew he needed someone. Maybe he felt he didn't want anyone, but he needed another there for him. The last time someone needed her, she failed them. Both of them. She would not fail again.

Leeta caught a glimpse of Storm before he disappeared again, she huffed and quickened her pace as well, depending on Nightingale to get her through the crowds. Every once in awhile she caught his scent, but then she would lose it again. Tracking had never really been her thing. She'd been taught the arts of healing, although ironically, she was just as good at fighting. Without Nightingale she was sure she would have lost Storm much earlier than this she was sure.
She bit her lower lip though, wondering if this was such a good idea. Everything in her called out to help this man, but the other part of her knew and respected a need for distance. She didn't want to accidentally push the man farther away. The two halves of herself warred with each other for quite some time but with neither winning out she just shook both away and followed, keeping her eyes glued to the crowd as she searched for the mysterious Storm.

Storm finally made his way out of the crowd, but when he did, he discovered he still wasn't alone. The two women from the funeral were following, but why? Frowning, he ducked behind a building and leaned against it, waiting for the persistent females. When they walked past him, he stepped out of his hiding spot. "Why are you following me?" he asked....

Leeta jumped when Storm's voice came from behind her instead of up front where it should have been. Her heart hammering she frowned as she turned to look at him. He didn't look to happy to see her, but that didn't bother her all that much. She was used to not being wanted around. Not that it stopped her though. She put her hands on her hips as she looked him over before meeting his gaze. "Because...well," her expression went from annoyed to puzzled. "Well because you looked lonely." She said, feeling like an idiot. She'd had great reasons, now, they all seemed to have fled. "Your new here and to come in on such a horrible day." Her shoulders dropped as she ran a hand through her hair and shrugged. "We didn't want you to have to be alone." She finished weakly.

Nightingale turned to the vampire and bowed. "Please forgive us our intrusion. Miss Leeta's correct. Besides, you seem so sad, and no one should be alone when they're sad. Even if it hurts at first, friends can help fresh woulds heal." She smiled. "Not saying, of course, that we have to be friends. However, company is always nice. At least join us for a meal. My treat. There's this nice little shop just up the road. I hear they have the wonderful deserts."

Storm frowned at the two women quizzically. They had noticed that he was upset and alone and wanted to fix it? How odd. But what was he supposed to do with the two persistent women? His lips twitched and he bowed his head briefly. He could definitely use a meal and maybe he could learn more about the man who led the funeral procession. If nothing else, he would leave with a full stomach.
"A meal would be much appreciated," he said and took a step back. "I'll let you lead the way, considering you know where the shop is. However, I must insist that I pay. I've never allowed a woman to take care of my needs before and I'll not start now."

Nightingale smiled. "That's alright. I'm not too fond of letting men take care of me either, however, Lidia always said that it's rude and down right immoral to turn down a free meal offered by a cute guy." She grinned at Storm. "And of course I know where it is..." She looked around the strange part of town. "At least, I would know where to go, if I knew where I was at exactly..."

While the girl tried to figure out where she was, a man flew from a nearby shop and hit the wall hard. Another man walked out of the shop and and stood infront of it as two other men rush at him from behind. A quick kick sent both of them flying back into the shop and the sound of glass breaking proved they hit something.
"I have no time for the pethetic, stay down if you wish to live." The man said coldly as he walked away from the three that he defeated.
They were dressed nice, like royalty, "You attack a barron that can to his queens funaral and think you can walk away."
"That is exacly what I think. Unless you think you can stop me?"
The mans face turned white as he felt the mans murderous intent. "I'll let you leave in peace only cause to much blood has been spilt already..."
"And you don't want yours to be the next." The man said as he walked away into the crowd.

Storm frowned at the woman as she tried to figure out where they were. So much for knowing where to go. At this rate, he might get his meal tomorrow. He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. How did he manage to get himself into this fix?
When men suddenly came flying out of a shop, Storm stepped in front of the woman and drew his sword until he heard the disagreement and the man's threats. Once he headed into the crowd, Storm put his sword away again and looked down at the girl. "Please tell me that wasn't the shop we were going to..."
