Nightingale sniffed the air. "No. The one we're going to smells kind of sweet, with a mixture of many spices. Now, just need a breeze..." She flicked her wrist the direction that they had just come from, and a gentle gust of wind blew towards them. She sniffed the air and smiled. "This is the fastest way, it seems." She turned and followed her nose.

Storm shook his head. What had he gotten himself into this time? Sighing, he turned and followed Nightingale

Leeta raised an eyebrow as a breeze came through. Had Nightingale...? No, she couldn't have. She shook her head, smiling slightly when Storm sighed but followed. She was glad that they'd found him and that he'd agreed to come along. Following behind the two of them she crossed her arms, keeping her gaze on the crowd. She knew Caelum was with the King but she hoped he would come out to walk around the square the way he often did when he was troubled. She needed to talk to him about what something she'd seen a week or so ago.
She hadn't thought much of it at the time. Just a lonely man that had a few screws loose but maybe it was more than that. Either way she felt it was her duty to try and help.

After a good ten minutes of walking, the trio stood in front of a small shop called The NightWish Cafe. Nightingale smiled. "Finally."
As they walked in, a young vampire girl with robin blue hair smiled at her. "Hey Nightingale, I didn't expect to see you again so soon."
Nightingale smiled at Misty, the waitress. "Well, I just love those White Night Pastries your mother bakes."
Misty sighed jokingly. "I'll go tell momma to make another three dozen. Have a seat where ever and I'll be right back out." She smiled and went into the kitchens.
Nightingale looked back at the other two. "Sorry about that. Last time I was here, I ran Misty's poor mother nearly ragged ordering those. They were just so good, though." She smiled sweetly and walked them to a table in the far corner.

Storm pinched the bridge of his nose. This was worse than he thought. Why was he here when he needed to be finding out something about how to hunt down the murderous people who killed the Queen and her children...

Leeta frowned her eyebrow beginnning to twitch upwards again and tried to force it down...to no avail. It said hello to the heavens as she listened to the conversation between Nightingale and the girl Misty. She'd never been to this particular cafe and was actually fairly excited about trying this infamous White Night Pastry. She glanced to Storm as she sat down, wondering how he was taking all this. He seemed so serious, even with Nightingales antics. Not one smile so far. She was curious about what he was thinking as she fiddled with one of the napkins on the table.

Jacob woke up, his arm throbbing. Sitting up he looked around and saw the older style buildings, "Must be in an older part of town." He noted to him self.
"No, when Ace attacked us, I transported us to the past in an effort to escape." a small familiar voice explained, "We are now a few hundred year in the past." the floating crystal figure finished.
Jacobs mouth hung open, "Crisis, why didn't you take us to another part of the city or something?"
"Because if I did, Ace would simply come chasing us while you were injured. I did what was best for your survival."
Jacob sighed at the hovering crystalline girl. She was right, but another part of time was something he hadn't expected. Standing up he held his arm as pain shot through it again, "Lets find new clothes so we don't stand out as much. Though I expect a floating crystal will still be pretty noticeable."

Nightingale ordered a small meal and several of the pastries. She looked between the two as they ordered. "So, where are you two from?"

Leeta looked up, her White Night pastry half way in her mouth as she took a bite. Swallowing she shrugged and looked away. "I've lived near the castle for most of my life." She said, not to o sure how welcome they would be to know how close she was to the Blood Knights. Feelings were mixed among the public about her people and she'd learned early on that trusting strangers, no matter how nice they seem, wasn't a good idea.
Her cover was blown though when she glanced out the window and saw Caelum walking by with another of his men. She didn't think as she stood up from the table, mumbled an apology and ran out.
~ ~ ~
Caelum frowned as he walked through a quieter part of town with his best friend Jaike. After the King had locked himself up in his room there was little else for them to do except chase their tails searching for the killer. He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. He couldn't shake the feeling that the King was acting strange, even for a mourning man and that it scared him. Rarely anything scared him, and not because he was brave. He just didn't care but this screamed problematic.
When Leeta came running up to him he was a bit startled and frowned at her, worried as he looked her over. "What are you doing here? It's not safe for-"
"Forget about that now there's something I need to tell you." She said, going on to explain all about the mysterious man she'd seen. Caelum's face darkened as he listened and when he looked at Jaike they exchanged a few words and then Jaike ran off to get together their men so they could check Leeta's findings.
Caelum looked back at Leeta. He may not love her but he did care about her like she was his little sister. "Come with me now, we need to get you home."
Leeta snorted, "Yeah right, come with me for a moment. I have two people I want you to meet," she said as she backed up and turned.

Storm watched the women relish their food, but when Leeta suddenly dashed out the door, he leaped up and frowned, worried that something was wrong. Then he saw her talking to the man who had led the funeral ceremony. Obviously, she knew him. Maybe she would introduce them so he could learn what he could do to aid in finding the murderers.

Alasteir walked into the sweets shop and almost ran into another man, "Watch it it," he said to the vampire as he walked around him, hand shoved in his pockets. He hadn't had any contact from Auron for days and then out of the blue, he tells him to meet him in some back town candy shop.
He sighed as he waited for his contact to arrive, "It's about time you showed up. I was wondering if you would even come." a voice said from the ceiling. It was extremely raspy but he knew it well.
With out looking up Alasteir ordered some food for himself and sighed, "So what have you found out about this assassin that took our mark. We can't get paid until his head is before our contractors. Also Why would someone hire two groups of assassins to kill some high ranking vampiress and her brats, It doesn't make sense to me."
"We were suppose to be the scape goats, have the city blame us for the task of another and while the vampires were weakened, they would attack. Unfortunately, we caught sent of a bad wind in time to get out of there and were never seen or heard of." Auron explained.
"So what now. we track down the bastards that were going to let use rot. I want payment, in blood if necessary." Alasteir almost growled in as much of a whisper as he could.
"Don't worry we will have what is ours, but now, we must just be patient." Auron cackled at the thought of Alaster being patient. No it didn't suit him at all.

Caelum frowned but he knew that determined look on Leeta's face. Finally sighing he allowed her to lead him into a small sweet shop. When he caught sight of the huge man and small woman he blinked, a bit surprised and then tensed as he caught the man's scent. He was foreign to the area and immediately Caelum was on the alert. At least until Leeta pinched him. He hissed at her, frowning to match the look on her face.
"Their good people, stop it," she hissed back as she led him to the table.
Caelum shook the woman's hand, the one Leeta called Nightingale and then Leeta introduced him to Storm. He extended his hand to the man and inclined his head, his gaze questioning. "What brings you to these parts?"

Storm shook his hand and then stepped back. "I was merely journeying through when I saw the funeral. However, now I find myself wanting to help find the murderous fiend who killed the Queen and babies. If I may be of service at all, please let me know."

Caelum's eyes flashed with pain as he nodded. "That would be greatly appreciated." He said, looking the man over as he rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "If you need a place to stay, I've got an extra room down at the inn that you can use." He said, realizing that since Storm was a stranger to the area he could be useful in asking around without raising suspicion.
~ ~ ~
Leeta raised an eyebrow at the offer Caelum was making. He himself didn't own the Inn he was suggesting. It was a business that a side family of his owned. She didn't doubt that they would allow Storm to stay but she was curious as to what Caelums plans were for Storm. He had a look in his eyes that said he was coming up with the makings of a plan.
