This is an erotica book, so if you don't like Erotica, don't read any further. Natually, there won't be any details, but it this book is worth the read!
This book is about a man (Jacob) who willingly becomes the 'slave' to the Vampire Queen, Lady Lyssa. The erotica in it is well done, it isn't just some slutty reading. It is very sensual, but you must understand that Joey Hill writes Dominant/Submissive (I can't think of the official term for that) but it is done is such a way that is so fabulous that I have now gone to Amazon.com to order as many of her books as I can.
Anyway, about the story....
Lady Lyssa is dying from a disease known as the Deliliah Disease that only vampires get. However, Jacob has convinced her to give him the 'third mark' that binds the two of them together to the point that when she dies, he will too. While dealing with this, there are a number of things that happen including Lyssa having to fight to protect her territory from Carnal who is a turned vampire who is trying to destroy the old council and use humans as their food instead of just for an 'annual' kill.
So much happens in this book and it is a love struggle between Lyssa remaining the dominant when Jacob is also an alpha human man who is very dominant as well, but he has willingly become her slave because he loves her. He is determined to protect her from the other vampires. If they learn of her illness, they would be on her territory in a heartbeat, but he is also trying to learn if a cure has been found.
I can't tell you too much without leaving spoilers, but this book really was worth reading! I loved it and I haven't found too many books lately that I have been this impressed with, but this one has absolutely captured me! You will love it if you read erotica. This has a true story plot behind it that you get caught up in quickly!
